At the Daisy Beauty expo this past weekend (which I wrote about here) Dermalogica was one of the skincare brands there to do mini-facials and to show their new products. One of latest additions to the range of products is the new cleanser for dry skin (YAY), intensive moisture cleanser.
I’ve always had skin more to the dry side, and especially this season in our Swedish climate. Cold air outside, dry and warm air inside. The constant change of heat and cold makes skin confused and as a result skin can feel tight and dry, two telltale signs of dehydrated skin.
The new Intensive moisture cleanser is a light, creamy cleanser that removes both makeup and impurities at the same time as it nourishes dry skin. It’s enhanced with BioReplenish Complex™, a lipid-enriched formula that helps minimize the damage of proteins and lipids that are vital to defend against dryness. The complex is combined with phytoactives from Coconut and Murumuru Seed Butter that help protect barrier lipids and preserve the skin’s natural resilience resulting in a smoother feel after cleansing. To add an extra refreshing feeling to the skin, Dermalogica have added invigorating extracts of Citrus, Palmarosa and Jasmine. The cleanser rinses away easily, leaving skin cleaner, softer and more luminous.
This is one of the products I tried straight away, as I was actually on the lookout for a new cleanser. The instruction says to apply on dampened skin, but eager as I was I slapped it straight onto dry skin which worked just fine. It has a soft scent to it which makes me happy as I hate when products have that artificial over-the-top perfumed smell.
My favorite routine when it comes to oil-cleansers or as in this case cream, is to massage it onto dry skin until it feels like it’s almost absorbed and then add a bit of warm water and massage it again.
Granted, I’ve only used it a couple of times so far, but my first impression is that I really like it! My skin feels clean, but without that stretchy feeling if you know what I mean? You know when your skin feels so dry it’s like it shrunk a size. Of course, I still have to do my moisturizing routine immediately as usual, but I di feel that the intensive moisture cleanser doesn’t strip my skin of its natural moisture.
I also like the bottle itself, as it comes in a handy pump dispenser which allows for easy portioning of product.
In Sweden, the new cleanser will be available in store one time during March. A bottle of 150ml will cost 425SEK and a bottle of 295ml 635SEK.
