Gimme’ that glow, please

(This post contains an adlink)

Oh Please someone tell me that the days of sunlight are actually just around the corner? I’m so tired of this darkness. My skin is transparent, lackluster and drier than a snakes leftover used and worn out skin. PLEASE I plead, show me just an itsy bitsy bit of sunshine m’kay?

Oh wait, since I live in Sweden I have another three months at least of cold and darkness. Of skin like a desert with not even a hallucination of water in sight.

Lucky there are good tricks and products around to help a girl out 🤪 Like this new mask!

One of my favorite brands when it comes to sheet masks is ACASIA skincare. There are two sheetmasks available already; LIFT ME UP sheet mask and START ME UP sheetmask. This coming april, ACASIA skincare are adding a third sheet mask to their line of products;

BRIGHTENING sheet mask

The brightening sheet mask is a single-use mask that will give your skin a boost of lustre and moisture. It’s full of vitamins C & E together with hyaluronic acid to give skin lustre, elasticity and a more even skin tone. Your skin will be left with less visible fine lines and with an improved moisture-balance and skin-barrier. The mask also has a section that wraps under you chin. The sheet itself is face-shaped with holes for the eyes, nose and mouth. The mask is suitable for all skintypes.

My skin right after removing the sheet mask. Moist, plumped and glowy.

So did I like it? Hell yes! I’m not surprised at all, as I already love and use the other two sheet masks from ACASIA SKINCARE. The lift me up is always a given for brides and perfect any time you need that Cinderella-Quick fix.

Will I buy it again? Well, pardon my French, but do bears poop in the woods? The answer is obviously yes yes yes! This will be a new favorite and I congratulate ACASIA SKINCARE for doing it again!

Each sheet mask is drenched with 23ml active serum and they cost 125SEK each.

The ACASICIA SKINCARE brand also has a cleanser, a 24h moisturizer and a cream-mask that can be used as a sleep mask aswell.

If you live in Sweden you are in luck as you can head on over to for instance to here (adlink)

If you don’t live here, find someone to send you them! It will be worth it for sure!

Daisy Beauty expo, 2019 edition

WOWZA!

The past two days have been, well ones to remember that’s for sure!

For the 5th year in a row, Daisy Beauty expo has taken place. So what is the expo? Well, it has it’s roots in DAISY BEAUTY and Daisy beauty magazine, or more correctly the people behind the Magazine, founders editor in chief Kicki Norman and her partner Sam Bergenstrahle.

Since the beauty-scene in Sweden is widely spread all over the country, but most open houses, press events and so on take place in Stockholm, Daisy beauty have put tougher this awesome expo to gather the beauty-community, brands, influencers, bloggers and journalists all at the same time for two days of lectures and the chance to meet and greet several brands at the same time.

DAY 1

So, the expo starts on a Friday with interesting lectures. This year was no exception although I had to leave after the first one for a job. (Don’t worry, I went back for the mingle later)

This years first lecture was editor in chief herself Kicki Norman that spoke about rules and regulations in Sweden regarding ”influencing”. That is i.e, how do I mark a post that is a collaboration with a brand? What counts as a collaboration? How do I expose myself to my readers, the importance of professionalism in different ways, and being my brand. Extremely interesting and a lot of good points I took with me.

Next up was Irène von Arronet, CEO for Nature Treats, that are the distributors of the brand Annemarie Börlind. About natural ingredients and sustainability. Sorry I missed this!

Philip Berkovitz, founder of the brand PHILIP B, spoke about the rejuvenating benefits of botanicals in haircare. Unfortunately I missed this as well, but I got the chance to talk to Philip during dinner in the evening, and I will be writing more about that in a separate post. Let me leave you with he is such a fascinating and interesting person!

Then the duo behind the Norwegian succes brand ELIXIR, founders Marianne Fjortoft and Kristine Borge told the story behind their cosmeceutical brand. (Missed out on this too)

Last but not least (yes, missed this too) was a lecture held by dietician and Dr in Medicine Gisela van der Ster about trends in food, healthy food and our eating in general. Does our relationship to food affect the way we look? I heard afterwards that this was extremely interesting so I do hope that I will have the opportunity to hear her speak at another occasion.

DAY 2

Day 2 is like a HUGE exhibition, fair, gathering of beauty-nerds and editors galore and brands within everything from skincare, haircare, styling-tools, hair-removal, makeup, nailcare, brow products and anything worthy of adding the tag beauty-product to it. The shorter description of the expo is heaven.

Persons in the community such as beauty-bloggers, beauty-journalists, beauty-vloggers and so on, have the opportunity to talk to so many different brands at one and the same occasion. From cosmeceutical brands, to ecological, to vegan, to mineral. Products suited from head to toe, to remove hair or to stimulate growth, from makeup to makeup remover, from leave-in products to ones you rinse out, from tightening to brightening, products that take You from Snow White pale to bronzed-up Goddess.

I did already use the word Heaven once right?

Among others Depend had a room full of balloons and cake,

where you could get your nails done, brows done and lashes applied. One could also mix ones own shade of nailpolish 💅😍

Sorry for dark pic, the above is the two shades I made!

As you can probably understand by now, there will be a whole lot more posts regarding my day at the expo and more about the brands I met and new products launching.

I will leave you with a few pictures and a promise that there will be much more to come 🥰

New in my kit from bareMinerals

The GEN NUDE blush has already been a fave for a while, as I have three of the hues in my kit already.

The COMPLEXION RESCUE DEFENSE became a new favorite instantly as it goes on smoothly and gives skin an almost airbrushed look and a perfect base for makeup application.

The new eyeshadow palettes look absolutely gorge and I am sure I will have to add them all to my professional kit after just swatching this one in copper

The new liquid highlighter barepro glow looks amazing, I mean come on? 😍

As you might know, (if not before you know now) I have loved bareMinerals for almost 15 years, and I used to work as the education manager and makeup artist for bareMinerals in Sweden for several years. A job I absolutely loved just as much as I love the brand, but after 5 years I decided to quit and go back to freelancing (now 3 years ago)

That doesn’t mean I stopped loving the brand! I still use something bareMinerals EVERY day, and my freelance kit is full of it. I think what makes me love it so much, perhaps since I am also a skin therapist, is that every product is more than just makeup. Every product has at least one skincare benefit and it really is makeup good for your skin.

You can expect to read more about the brand and reviews of all the above within the neareat feature 😊🥰
