Meet KORA

KORA organics is quite a young brand on the market, founded by model Miranda Kerr. Here’s the story behind it,

THE STORY

”At KORA Organics, we believe that healthy skin is the most beautiful skin.

Our skin is our largest organ and it supports the life of all our other body parts. It plays a vital role in maintaining our immune system and works 24/7 to take care of us, protect us and keep us healthy. It makes sense to look after our skin with products that replenish it and fill it with the nutrients it needs to function at its best.

As an international model, mother and someone who is passionate about nutrition, health and wellbeing, having healthy skin has been important to Miranda from a young age. In 2006 she started the development of KORA Organics – a company she founded on the values of making a transformative difference to people’s skin, their confidence, and offering them a healthier alternative to other brands on the market. They use certified organic and natural products for one simple reason – because what you put on your skin soaks in.

Along with a team of researchers and consultants in microbiology, aromatherapy and organic chemistry who specialise in organic and natural formulations, they identified key ingredients based on their natural healing and protective powers, such as Noni Extract, Rosehip Oil, Sea Buckthorn Oil and Green Tea.

KORA Organics launched in 2009 exclusively through Australia’s leading department store, David Jones. Since then, KORA Organics has expanded to over 200 retailers across Australia, including Sephora, in addition to selling worldwide through KORAOrganics.com and luxury global e-retailer Net-A-Porter.com. In 2017, KORA Organics launched exclusively in the U.S.A in over 300 Sephora stores and Sephora.com and by the end of 2018, KORA Organics will be stocked across 25 countries and in more than 2,500 stores.

We have created an award-winning range of certified organic and certified natural products that detoxify, nourish and revitalise your skin. KORA Organics products are highly concentrated and active, delivering visible results while restoring your skin to its optimal health. We love what we have created and we’re excited for you to experience our products.”

WHAT DID I THINK?

Honestly, it took me a couple of uses to fall for it. I think perhaps my expectations were a bit high the first time I used it at I didn’t get as much as a ”wow” as I was expecting right after – but I did notice my skin felt really nice the morning after. My complexion is reeeeeally dry this time of year, and one of my main issues is keeping my nose clear of blackheads. As a professional skin therapist, I know that one way to measure the effectiveness of a product is the effect it has on my blackheads. Let me explain; The drier my skin is, the harder my blackheads are to remove. An effective product makes sebum softer and this, blackheads easier to remove. So my pores aren’t really congested, I just have blackheads. And as everyone else this season, kind of lackluster and dull.

So after my first use, my skin felt refreshed, but I didn’t have the big wow I was hoping for. As I said, the morning after my skin felt nice. A nice mask. Nice feel on the skin, a slight tingling sensation and an ok scent. But in all honesty, is it fair to expect a miracle after just one application?

Knowing my skin isn’t exactly in the main target group for the mask, I decided to give it another go three nights later. And this is where I had the wow I wanted. After the second use, I did see a better glow to my skin and as mentioned, my blackheads were softer and came out easier! NOTE! I don’t recommend squeezing blackheads yourself unless you’re a professional, as it is easy to damage skin surface if you aren’t careful.

DO I RECOMMEND IT AND WILL I BUY IT AGAIN?

I now use the TURMERIC BRIGHTENING & EXFOLIATING MASK as part of my routine, and sometimes apply it only on my nose to give those blackheads a go. Even though I’m not the exact target group, I still see myself buying the mask again. I like the way it feels on my skin, I like having an option to my acid-favorites and I most definately DO RECOMMEND it for anyone with congested skin that is looking for a product that is based on natural ingredients but still gives results!

looking forward to trying more from KORA and if you have any favorites from the brand please share.

Kramar D
